Lately I have seen an increase in customers looking for Equestrian properties in southwest Florida. Areas like Sarasota and Punta Gorda offer an array of not only equestrian properties but equestrian comminutes. Myakka Valley Ranch has a community that boasts 300 5+ acre parcels beautifully situated next to the Myakka River. The entire area is designed to accommodate horses and includes over 17 miles of riding trials, all maintained by the Myakka Valley Ranch Improvement Association. Also in Sarasota is the Saddle Creek Community. Saddle Creek offers residents over 30 miles of riding trails. The over 170 homes all have at least 5 scares and 2,500 square feet of living space. The area is maintained by the Saddle Creek Owners Association.

Charlotte County also has a lot to offer buyers looking for the quiet, county lifestyle. Equestrian communities in Prairie Creek Estates, Prairie Creek Park and Prairie Creek West. Prairie Creek Park residents can enjoy not only an equestrian community but also a park. With over 300 lots ranging from 5-15 acres and over 22 miles of greenbelt riding trials this area is a premier site for rustic living. All in all I have been pleasantly surprised at the overall abundance of compatibility between southwest Florida and equestrian communities. These areas are perfect for those looking for a rural and laid back lifestyle with plenty of breathing and roaming room.
